Third grade is a very important year in school. We are the bridge between the primary grades and the intermediate grades. Responsibility is very important. We are preparing students to be more independent. Homework is an important part of this preparation. Your student will have homework almost every night. Usually there are several pages of math homework. I collect the pages in the morning.
At the end of each day we write our homework in our planners. The planners are accurate. I check these before they leave the room at the end of the day. Please consult the planners to see what they need to do each night.
Finally, if students come to school without completed homework I will have the student complete it at recess time. Homework allows the student to practice skills taught throughout the day. Homework is how students master these concepts. I will take recess until the homework is completed.
